One of the most common things we hear is, “I’ve never had a piercing done properly before.”
Usually, that comes from someone who’s had an experience that felt rushed, confusing, or slightly off.
A client once came in wanting their nose pierced again after removing a previous one that never healed. They told us the last studio “just marked it quickly and did it.” No discussion, no jewellery options, no explanation of swelling or aftercare. The piercing migrated and eventually had to come out.
At OSCO London, appointments start slowly on purpose.
We sit down and talk first. We look at anatomy, previous scarring, and where the piercing will actually sit once swelling goes down — not just where it looks good in the mirror that moment. We explain what healing really looks like, including the awkward stages no one posts online.
Jewellery is chosen carefully. For fresh piercings, we use implant-grade materials only, sized to allow swelling without excess movement. In that client’s case, the previous jewellery had been too short, causing constant pressure.
The piercing itself is calm and controlled. Everything is prepared in front of the client using sterile, single-use equipment. The actual moment is quick — but the care around it isn’t.
Afterwards, we explain aftercare and book in a downsizing check. That client healed cleanly the second time.
A professional appointment isn’t about speed. It’s about everything you don’t notice going wrong later.
